Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog 🙂 Teaching is my second love, my husband being my first. This is why I decided to create this blog, so I can share my classroom ideas with you!
Where I’m from & Where I teach…
I was born and raised in El Paso Texas. I moved to Arizona in 2005. It was a drastic change going from a small town to a big city. But AZ has definitely become my home. This is where I met the love of my life, so the big change was definitely a good thing.
I graduated from Ottawa University and I received my Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education, and I have a Master’s degree in Bilingual/Multicultural Education from Northern Arizona University. I have taught for 9 years in private, charter, and public schools – 1 year in Middle School, 2 years in Preschool, 2 years in Kindergarten, and I’m currently on my fourth year as a Title 1 first grade teacher in Southwestern Arizona. I LOVE first grade! Before teaching first grade, I thought I’d stay in kindergarten forever. But after my first year, I had a change of heart.
I consider myself an ELL learner, being that my first language is Spanish. This is why I am hands-on teacher, I love incorporating lots of engaging visuals, cooperative learning, and kinesthetic activities into my daily curriculum.
I love crafting, but I hate cleaning up my messes! I crochet, sew, make hair pieces, baby shower corsages, diaper cakes and props for photographers. My sister is a professional photographer and making props for her motivated me to start my little business, “Creations by Lore.” These are some of my creations!
My husband and I do not have babies as of yet, but hopefully in the near future. But we have two amazing fur-babies, which we adore! Sasha is 7 years old and Oreo is 5. Sasha was given to me by one of my students when I taught Kindergarten. He was diagnosed with leukemia, I would make it my mission to visit him at the hospital often. He told his mom he wanted to give me a special present as a thank you, so he decided to give me Sasha. She is honestly the best gift he could have ever given me. We love her to pieces. I’m happy to say he beat cancer’s butt and he is now in 8th grade!
We bought our house last year, and we absolutely love it. It’s been fun decorating and adding new things to it. We have been married for 5 years and looking forward to many more. Whenever we get a chance we like travel. We try to visit Puerto Rico once a year, because that’s where my husband was born and raised, not to mention his whole family lives over there. I love La Isla Del Encanto! We have a bucket list of places we’d like to visit. In 2013 we were very fortunate to take a trip to Europe. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I’d be able to travel over seas. It’ll definitely be one of the most memorable moments in my life. I’ll leave you with some pictures of our fur babies!
